The Partners TeleStroke program enabled our hospital to apply for and win DPH approval as a
designated stroke center within the State of Massachusetts. The TeleStroke
program is not a pre-requisite for DPH approval, however the immediate,
around the clock access to highly qualified neurological expertise offered by
the TeleStroke program provided our local care providers with an increased
level of confidence to aggressively pursue this designation. Time is critical in
an acute stroke situation and having real-time, 24x7 access to the Partners
neurological team ensured us that we would be able to effectively diagnose
and treat these patients in a manner consistent with clinical best practices
